Staggered Holes
This version carries the offset bolt pattern. Which one a particular motorcycle needs depends on its master cylinder clamp and the answer is on the handlebar.
A Limited Model That Was Not
The RVE began as a restricted proposition and Ducati kept extending it because demand refused to stop. It is now the version most people picture when they think of a 950.
Sprayed Through Several Stages
The graffiti scheme is paint rather than vinyl, applied in a multi-step process. It costs more to produce and it survives mileage that a wrap would not.
Black or Titanium
Both grown into the aluminium electrochemically. Against this particular livery, black is unambiguously the quieter and probably the wiser of the two.
Sealed Contacts
Enclosed inside the machined body. On a bike washed as often as a supermoto, a clipped lid gives up long before any switch mechanism does.
A Shifter Used Everywhere
The RVE includes the bidirectional quickshifter as standard. With this much torque it gets used at every junction rather than saved for a circuit.
Cut From Solid
Ergal 7075, roughly twice the yield strength of ordinary machined alloy. Supermotos are dropped routinely and the material reflects that plainly.
Feel, Not Legends
Machined geometry is most of what a gloved hand receives from a control. A printed marking on a moulded block has usually faded by the fourth summer anyway.
Original Plug
Pre-wired to Ducati's connector, nothing spliced. No adapter in the box because none is needed.
Ridden Standing Up
On broken surfaces the rider is off the seat with the weight over the pegs and the hands meeting the bars at an angle no road position produces. Every control has to be reachable in that posture as well, which is a test a moulded block designed around a seated rider was never asked to pass.
