The JP ES 013 closes the MT-03's sidestand circuit so the bike runs with the stand removed.

A Safety Interlock
The switch stops the engine when a gear is selected with the stand extended. On a road bike it prevents a specific and very common accident and it should stay connected.
Why It Disappears
Track preparation removes the stand, and the switch goes with it. The circuit then reads permanently open and the motorcycle refuses to run in gear at all.
Closing the Loop
This unit presents the state the ECU expects from a retracted stand. The engine starts, runs and shows nothing about a component that is no longer fitted.
A Naked R3
Wide bars, an upright seat and the same 321 cc twin. The MT-03 is the version most riders find easier to use quickly on a road with corners.
Forty-Two Horsepower
Arriving right at the top of the range. Small Yamahas teach riders to keep the engine spinning, which is a habit that transfers to anything bigger later.
Fitted First
Nothing else on a preparation list can be tested until the engine will stay running without the stand. It is the job that unlocks the rest of the afternoon.
Nothing Cut
Yamaha's own connector near the swingarm pivot. The switch goes back in whenever the stand does, which is generally when the bike returns to the road.
Nine Model Years
This covers 2016 to 2024 without a change in the circuit. Yamaha has been unusually consistent with this platform's wiring.
Not a Road Modification
With a stand still fitted, disabling the interlock means an easy mistake becomes a locked rear wheel at the first left-hander. Leave it alone on a street bike.
