The JP ACC AP009 replaces the Dorsoduro 900's throttle assembly with a short-stroke unit that reaches full opening in sixty degrees instead of the rotation the factory chose.

A Supermoto With a Twin
Aprilia took the 896 cc V-twin and built a tall, flat-barred machine around it that was happiest being ridden badly on purpose. Ride-by-wire arrived early on this family and the throttle was always the busiest control on it.
Sixty Degrees
The grip reaches full opening in sixty degrees of rotation where the standard assembly wants considerably more. The hand ends up doing less work for the same result.
Learning It Takes One Session
The first few corners feel abrupt because the hand is still travelling the old distance. By the end of an afternoon the new sweep is the one the wrist expects.
Cable Feel Without a Cable
The intent stated by the manufacturer is the weight and progression of a cable throttle. Electronics removed that feel and this is an attempt to give it back.
The Closed Position Matters Most
Everything the controller decides at small openings is referenced to where it believes closed is. That is why the learn routine exists at all.
The Learn Routine, in Plain Terms
The controller is told to look at the throttle with the grip released and write down what it sees. Everything after that is measured from that number.
The Diagnostic Appointment
Book it before the spanners come out. A motorcycle with a new throttle assembly and no reset is a motorcycle that stays in the garage.
The Fitting Sequence
Bar end out, grip off, switch block loosened and slid inboard, two clamp screws out, assembly lifted clear and unplugged. The new body goes back the same way in reverse. Everything after that is torque and tidiness, and then the diagnostic reset before the motorcycle moves.
The Busiest Control
On a fast road or a circuit the right grip is moved more often than any other control on the motorcycle, and usually while the rider is doing something else as well. Reducing the distance it has to travel is a small change made many hundreds of times an hour.
