The JP CJP 012B corrects the Monster 1200 R's fuelling cell by cell rather than along a single curve, which is the difference between a map and a trim.

The Sharpest Monster
Higher pegs, lower bars and the engine turned up. Ducati built the R for people who found the S insufficiently committed.
Programming Over USB
A cable from a laptop to the unit, the dedicated software on a Windows machine, and the map written in seconds. The motorcycle does not need to be running to receive it.
What It Will Not Do
Raise the rev limit, alter ignition timing, change a riding mode or repair a mechanical fault. Everything outside fuel quantity remains the standard controller's business.
Class Rules
Some series regulate engine management tightly. Establish what is permitted before ordering, because an ineligible controller is an expensive way to learn a rulebook.

An evening to fit and understand, a day to produce something usable, a season to refine it. That is what buying a blank map commits an owner to.

Heat Under the Seat
The unit lives where an engine has been working. It is built for that; pressing it against a rail that carries exhaust heat is still worth avoiding.

Every firing event arrives through the chassis. A single is the most revealing engine to map and the least forgiving of a rushed job.
The Sale Afterwards
A motorcycle offered with this unit should come with its map file and a note of the configuration it was written for. Without those the next owner inherits a blank sheet and a bill.
