The JP ES 046 caps the 1050 Adventure's air injection ports with billet plugs in place of the reed housings.

What Bolts to the Head
A small housing containing a reed, one per cylinder head, fed by a hose from the airbox. It is the part that physically lets the air in.
Reeds Do Not Last
They sit at cylinder head temperature and flex on every closed throttle. After enough cycles they crack, and a cracked reed sends exhaust gas back up the hose.
What That Looks Like
Soot inside the airbox and a filter that discolours long before its service interval. Most owners find it while looking for something else entirely.
Turned From Billet
A solid plug with an O-ring in a machined groove. There is nothing inside it to age and nothing to check at a service for the life of the engine.
Two Heads, Two Plugs
The LC8 is a V-twin, so the system appears twice. Both sides have to be closed or the deletion is only half done.
Non-Adjustable Suspension
KTM saved money on the 1050 with fixed WP units front and rear. It is the clearest sign of where the price came from and it matters less than the specification sheet implies.
Two Seasons in the Catalogue
The 1050 was replaced by the 1090 almost immediately. It remains the cheapest way into the big LC8 chassis and it is a considerably better motorcycle than its reputation.
KTM's Own Fasteners
Original bolt positions and original torque figures. Nothing is drilled and no thread in the head is touched.
Not the Electrical Half
The controller still watches the solenoid whatever is capped. The eliminator handles that side of the job.
Homologation
Air injection belongs to the bike's approval and removing it ends road legality across Europe.
