Eleven Hundred Cubic Centimetres
Kawasaki enlarged the naked four for 2026, giving the Z more torque everywhere without changing what the motorcycle is for.
The Z1000's Successor
After a gap in the range, Kawasaki returned to a naked litre-plus four. Riders who never wanted a supercharged Z H2 have somewhere to go again.
Reversible
The standard valve refits on its own connector whenever it needs to, with nothing consumed by the conversion in either direction.
Two Parts, Two Decisions
Some owners want only the fault gone and stop there. Others remove the whole system. Kawasaki's arrangement lets both happen and neither is wrong.
Nothing Is Cut
No wire is severed and no connector is modified, which is the property that makes the change reversible and worth insisting on.
No Effect on Fuelling
The injectors are shut when the valve operates, so nothing the eliminator does touches the mixture at any point where mixture actually exists.
The Warning Comes Back
Clearing the code works until the next ignition cycle. There is no way to make it stay cleared except by giving the circuit what it is looking for.
On a Bike With a Full System
The overrun becomes genuinely loud, to the point that riders begin wondering whether something has gone wrong. Nothing has, and the sound has been produced by the emissions hardware all along rather than by the exhaust that finally made it audible.
A Job Best Done Once
Combining this with a filter change, an exhaust fitting or a coolant service means the disassembly is paid for by something else. Doing it in isolation is entirely possible and a slightly wasteful use of an evening that could have covered three jobs.
