The Full Fairing Version
A frame-mounted fairing, a top box and an audio system. The Voyager is the most equipped motorcycle Kawasaki builds and it is aimed squarely at one market.
Four Hundred and Six Kilograms
Wet, which is as much as any production motorcycle weighs. Above walking pace it disappears, which is the whole trick with a bike of this kind.
After a Full System
Removing restriction downstream does not create the crackle, it stops muffling it. Riders who fit an exhaust and then chase the noise through mapping are solving the wrong problem at considerable expense.
An Inline Four Makes It Loud
Four exhaust pulses collected into one collector produce a sharper report than a twin manages, which is why owners of the larger Kawasakis notice this and owners of the 400s frequently do not.
Support the Lead
The eliminator needs a cable tie to an existing loom run rather than being left hanging. Anything swinging under a tank eventually finds something to rub against.
Why the Aftermarket Bothers
Because the fault is common, the fix is simple and the manufacturer has no reason to offer one. It is a textbook example of what a good aftermarket part is for.
Done Right, Invisible
Correctly fitted, nothing about the motorcycle indicates the change except the absence of a noise and the absence of a warning on the panel.
Fitted With the Airbox Open
Anybody already inside for a filter change has the connector in front of them, which makes this the cheapest twenty minutes on the whole service list.
What Owners Actually Notice
A quieter overrun and a dashboard that stays clean. Nothing about the power delivery changes, nothing about consumption changes, and anybody reporting otherwise is describing a placebo that has fooled a great many people before them.
