A Seven Hundred and Sixty Millimetre Seat
Low enough for almost anybody, which is a considerable part of why the model sold as well as it did.
Liquid Cooling Done Discreetly
Triumph hid the radiator well enough that the Street Twin still looks like an air-cooled motorcycle, which was the whole point of the exercise.
Condensation in Winter
Vapour lines running from a warm tank to a cold vessel collect water, and in a hard frost that water can block the smallest bend in the hose.
A Bigger Tank Works It Harder
The touring variants carry more fuel and produce proportionally more vapour, while the canister stays the same size. Saturation arrives sooner on those bikes.
Nothing Is Modified
No holes are drilled, no lines are shortened and no connectors are cut. That is the property that makes the decision reversible at all.
Not Every Market Has One
Triumph fits evaporative control where regulations demand it, so an imported machine may have none of this plumbing. Five minutes under the tank settles the question before anything is ordered.
Two Ends, Two Answers
The tank needs a vent and the controller needs a circuit. A kit supplying only one of those leaves half the work undone and produces its own set of complaints.
Refitting for a Test
An emissions inspection that includes a visual check needs the standard arrangement in place. With the parts kept, that is an evening's work rather than a parts order and a rescheduled appointment.
Fuel Vapour Rises
Which is why the vent has to be routed and terminated properly rather than simply pointed downwards and forgotten about.
