Where the Controls Went
Fitting a quick-action throttle usually means removing the original right-hand block. The functions it carried do not disappear; they need a mounting, and this unit provides one alongside the new assembly.
The RF's Intended Use
Öhlins suspension, forged wheels and a numbered batch. Aprilia built the RF for people who take their superbikes to circuits, and circuits are where quick-action throttles stop being an affectation.
Intake Trumpets That Move
The V4 varies its intake tract length with revs, which broadens torque without costing peak power. Combined with a shorter throttle action, the engine becomes noticeably more urgent on a corner exit.
One Finish
Titanium anodising only. This is a functional part sold to people mid-conversion rather than a cosmetic upgrade, and the finish matches the throttle kits it sits beside.
Sealed Elements
Military-specification switches enclosed within the body. A paddock is a wet, dusty place and the bike gets washed hot at the end of it, which is harder on contacts than a year of road use.
Rigid Because It Is Milled
Cut from one block of Ergal 7075. The mounting does not deflect when a control is pushed hard, which is the difference between an input that registers and one the rider has to repeat.
Aprilia's Connector
Pre-wired, so the added controls work without splicing into the loom. Everything remains reversible when the motorcycle goes back to standard specification.
