IN2001Y is the left-hand bracket that carries the R9's belly pan. It is a small stainless part, it costs less than almost anything else in the kit, and the lower fairing does not stay on the motorcycle without it.

The Bracket Sets the Gap
Where this bracket sits decides the clearance between the belly pan and the header pipes, and that gap is not decorative. Too much and the pan hangs low enough to ground out on a kerb; too little and the laminate spends every session absorbing radiant heat from the collector. Setting it during the build, with the engine cold and the bike on its wheels, is worth the extra ten minutes. Fitted on a paddock stand the suspension is extended, and the gap will close once the bike takes its own weight.
Dropping the Pan for an Oil Change
The two brackets are what make the belly pan a separate assembly rather than a part trapped behind the flanks. In practice that means an oil change looks like this: undo the fasteners at both brackets, lower the pan clear, and the sump plug and filter are in front of you with the rest of the bodywork untouched. On a standard R9 the same job starts with taking the side panels off. Over a season of regular track use that difference adds up to real time.
