Rally training and desert-style riding put a Sherco SEF 450 on fast, open terrain: sandy tracks, dry riverbeds and long gravel plains where speeds are high and the braking points come suddenly. For that use, Accossato lists front pad AGPA29 for the SEF 450 from 2014 to 2019, catalogued as SE 450 F, in its Off-road sintered (STMX) compound, the mixture it makes for riders who leave the tarmac behind.

Construction and Material Quality
For STMX, Accossato gives only one line: it is the mixture for off-road riders. Fast open terrain is one of the harshest places for a front brake, with high-speed stops on loose ground and fine sand everywhere. The company, whose riders won an enduro world title in 1985, claims its pads wear slowly, stay cool enough to resist fade and stop strongly.
Fast Open Terrain
On a gravel plain the SEF 450 can reach speeds that feel very different from a forest trail. A hidden ditch or a sharp turn in the track calls for a hard stop on loose ground, and the front brake has to deliver without locking the wheel.
An off-road compound is designed for that combination of speed and dirt. Sand, in particular, finds its way everywhere, so check the caliper and the disc surface at every stop.
On a multi-day trip, carry a spare set and the tools to fit it. A pad change in the shade of the bike is a normal part of desert riding.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list, the front of the SE 450 F from 2014 to 2019, shown as SEF 450 in our garage, uses AGPA29, while AGPP80 fits the rear. There is one front disc, so a single box covers it. After fitting, pump the lever until firm and check that the caliper is tight.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German approval for this compound in our records. It is intended for off-road competition.
