DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered exclusively for track use, the OZ Cattiva forged magnesium rear wheel delivers an effortless, confidence-inspiring ride experience from the first session to the last. Its dramatically reduced rotating mass allows the Ducati Panigale V4 to change direction with a fluency that riders notice immediately — less physical effort through fast chicanes, more feedback through long sweepers, and a chassis balance that simply cannot be achieved with a heavier cast wheel. Part number C6012DU60X is the lightest rear wheel OZ Racing produces, born directly from Superbike World Championship development.
Key Features
- Lightest rear wheel in the OZ Racing range — forged magnesium construction slashes rotating inertia for noticeably easier, more precise handling lap after lap.
- Six-spoke Cattiva architecture developed in collaboration with SBK racing teams, blending structural rigidity with the lowest possible unsprung weight.
- Reduced rotating mass translates directly into sharper acceleration out of corners, shorter braking distances, and faster corner-entry speeds.
- Ships ready to fit: high-quality bearings, aluminium angle valves, and spacers (where required) are included in the box.
- Track-only specification — not road-legal, ensuring every gram of the design is optimised purely for circuit performance with no regulatory compromise.
- Made in Italy at the OZ Racing forge, to the same exacting standards supplied to factory race programmes.
Forged Magnesium — Why It Matters on Track
Cast aluminium wheels are a known limiting factor on high-power superbikes: their weight lives exactly where it hurts most, rotating at the tyre contact patch. OZ addresses this with a forging process that aligns the magnesium grain structure under immense pressure, producing a wheel that is simultaneously lighter and stronger than any cast equivalent. On a Ducati Panigale V4, where the chassis, suspension and electronics are already tuned to the finest margins, swapping to the Cattiva is one of the few modifications that improves every dynamic parameter at once — steering response, braking stability, drive traction and overall rider fatigue across a full race distance.
Cattiva Design
The six-spoke Cattiva profile is not simply an aesthetic choice. Each spoke is individually optimised in cross-section to carry cornering and braking loads along the most efficient path to the hub, while the spoke count and spacing are chosen to work harmoniously with the Panigale V4's rear tyre profile and the forces generated by its 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine. The result is a wheel that looks as purposeful as it performs, available in gloss black, matte black, and gold to complement the Panigale's livery.
Fitment and Compatibility
C6012DU60X is a direct-fit rear wheel for the following Ducati models:
- Ducati Panigale V4 (2018–2024)
- Ducati Panigale V4 S (2018–2024)
- Ducati Panigale V4 R (2019–2024)
The wheel ships with all necessary bearings, aluminium angle valves, and spacers pre-selected for these fitments. Always verify your exact model year and specification before fitting, and note that this wheel is designed for closed-circuit competition use only.
