DescriptionThe whole story

The JP ES 007 handles the electrical side of removing secondary air from the Desert X, which is the half that decides whether the dashboard stays clean afterwards.

Key Features

  • Ducati Desert X (2023–2025)
  • Takes the secondary air solenoid out of the circuit
  • No warning on the instrument panel
  • Plugs into Ducati's own connector
  • Nothing cut, nothing spliced
  • Standard valve refits at any time

The Testastretta 11 Degree

Nine hundred and thirty-seven cubic centimetres and a hundred and ten horsepower, tuned for low-down drive rather than for a peak figure.

Before Any Mapping

Air arriving after combustion moves what the lambda sensor reports, and a map built on that run describes the plumbing as much as the engine.

The Warning Returns

Clearing the code with a reader works until the next ignition cycle, when the self-test runs again and finds the same open circuit.

Ordered by Model Year

Ducati has used more than one connector across the range and across the years, so the year matters more than the model name when choosing.

Support the Lead

The eliminator needs a cable tie to an existing loom run rather than being left hanging. Anything swinging under a tank eventually finds something to rub against.

Nothing to Reset

No idle setting, no throttle balance and no fuelling change. The engine runs exactly as it did, because the valve was never doing anything while it was working.

A Sealed Body

The eliminator is potted rather than open, so the connector stays as protected from water as it was with the original valve fitted.

What the System Was Actually For

It exists because emissions legislation measures what leaves the exhaust, and burning leftover hydrocarbons in the pipe improves that measurement without changing anything about combustion. Understanding that is what makes the rest obvious: removing it cannot cost power, because it was never adding any, and it cannot hurt the engine, because it never touched the intake side at all.

Clearing the Memory Afterwards

Fitting the eliminator stops new faults being stored, but it does not erase the ones already there. A diagnostic tool clears the history in seconds and it is worth doing at the same time, because a warning that was already logged will otherwise sit in the record and confuse the next person who reads it, whether that is a dealer, a buyer or you in three years.
