DescriptionThe whole story▼
A tall, deeply curved front fender for a tall motorcycle. The S 1000 XR sits high on long-travel suspension and covers ground that a superbike never sees, and its front fender has to work harder than the one on the S 1000 RR it shares an engine with.
Key Features
- Front mudguard in the factory contour
- Bolts to the fork legs; no modification
- 245 Twill weave, six versions
- BMW S 1000 XR, 2015 and 2016
A Bike That Actually Gets Rained On
The XR was built to be ridden far, in whatever the weather does, and that is the context for this part. It sees more standing water, more salt and more motorway grit in a year than most of the motorcycles in the Fullsix catalogue see in their lives. A fender here is a working component, not a detail.
What carbon changes is that stone chips land in lacquer rather than in paint. A chipped clear coat can be filled and re-sealed; chipped paint on a fender needs a colour match, and on a bike with BMW's motorsport scheme that is not a cheap afternoon.
Read the Years
Fullsix lists this mudguard for the S 1000 XR of 2015 and 2016 only. BMW revised the bike substantially afterwards, and the manufacturer names no later fitment. We are not going to extend that on a guess.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S 1000 XR, 2015 and 2016. The same moulding is listed for several S 1000 RR and S 1000 R model years.
Road Approval
Fullsix documents no road-traffic approval. A front mudguard is required equipment in several countries; this one performs that function but carries no approval of its own.
