Developed in direct collaboration with the World Superbike Championship, the Febur FE1401 racing aluminium swingarm is built for one purpose: extracting every tenth of a second from the Kawasaki ZX-10 R and ZX-10 RR on track. At just 6.7 kg and constructed entirely from high-grade aluminium, it delivers a meaningful reduction in unsprung mass without any compromise to torsional rigidity or structural integrity.

Built for the Track, Tested at the Top

The FE1401 swingarm is not an aftermarket approximation of a race part — it is the race part. Febur invested its engineering resource alongside WSBK teams to arrive at a geometry and wall-thickness specification that survives the sustained punishment of superbike competition. The result is a component that handles the torque peaks and kerb-strike loads of circuit riding without the weight penalty of a stock cast-aluminium piece.

Two axle configurations are catered for within the kit. Riders running dedicated racing wheels with a 28 mm rear axle pin will find all required hardware included: tensioner sliders, the 28 mm pin, a locking nut and a caliper bracket. Those retaining the original Kawasaki wheel can fit the supplied OEM-compatible 25 mm pin bush alongside the tensioner sliders, speed sensor bracket and caliper bracket. Note that the original Kawasaki brake caliper is not compatible with either configuration — a racing or aftermarket caliper is required.

Performance Advantage

Reducing unsprung and rotational mass at the rear axle has a disproportionately large effect on how a superbike feels and behaves. With the FE1401 fitted, the ZX-10 R/RR responds more crisply to suspension adjustments, exhibits cleaner rear-end stability under braking and accelerates out of corners with less rotational inertia working against the drivetrain. For riders pushing towards lap-time gains, this is one of the most mechanically direct improvements available.
