DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered for the demands of circuit work and fast road riding alike, the Arrow Indy-Race 71829PK is a full titanium slip-on silencer purpose-built for the Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M (2017-2026). At just 1.53 kg it strips meaningful mass from the tail section, sharpens throttle response and unleashes a more direct power delivery — all while retaining the E-mark approval needed for legal road use.
Key Features
- Titanium canister construction weighing only 1.53 kg — significant unsprung and overall weight reduction versus the stock exhaust
- Carbon end-cap finish for a purposeful, race-derived aesthetic that complements the R1's aggressive lines
- Stainless steel internal components ensure long-term heat resistance and structural integrity under sustained high-rpm use
- Supplied with a removable db-killer for noise regulation — remove it for track days, refit it for road compliance
- E-mark road approval included, so the silencer is street-legal straight from the box
- Designed to pair directly with the Arrow header and Arrow mid-pipe to form a complete, matched performance exhaust system
Track Performance & Road Usability
The Indy-Race name is no marketing shorthand — this canister draws directly from Arrow's extensive racing programme. The precisely profiled 55 mm inlet and 58 mm outlet work in concert with the R1's crossplane-crank engine to broaden the power band and sharpen mid-range response. On track, losing the weight of the factory silencer improves mass centralisation and reduces polar moment of inertia, contributing to quicker direction changes through chicanes. On the road, the db-killer keeps sound levels civilised without compromising the open, mechanical note that makes the R1 addictive to ride.
Build Quality
Arrow manufactures the Indy-Race canister from aerospace-grade titanium — a material that tolerates the extreme thermal cycling of track use without discolouring structurally or losing its form. The stainless steel internals resist corrosion from condensation and combustion by-products, while the carbon end-cap is finished to match the carbon bodywork options available on the YZF-R1M. At 250 mm in length the unit is compact and sits within the stock envelope, preserving cornering clearance.
For maximum performance gain Arrow recommends a custom ECU remap to take full advantage of the improved exhaust flow. The 71829PK is also compatible with the Arrow header (71829MI) and Arrow mid-pipe to create a full Arrow exhaust system with even greater power and weight benefits.
Fitment & Compatibility
- Yamaha YZF-R1 (2017-2026)
- Yamaha YZF-R1M (2017-2026)
