DescriptionThe whole story▼

Over a race weekend a front brake is set up like any other part of the bike. Riders and mechanics choose a pad, learn what it does on Friday, and build the rest of the weekend on that knowledge. Accossato's ZXC ceramic racing compound is one of the options for the AGPA106 pad at the front of the Bimota Tesi H2 1000, listed for the 2021 to 2023 machines.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Bimota Tesi H2 1000, 2021 to 2023
  • Article number AGPA106ZXC: the AGPA106 shape in the ZXC ceramic racing compound
  • Accossato describes a ceramic mixture made for racing
  • Two pads to a box, the set a single caliper takes
  • Each caliper on the front wheel needs its own box
  • The ST, EV1 and EV2 versions use the same shape
  • The AGPA42 covers the rear of this Bimota, listed 2021 to 2024
  • No German ABE in our files; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes this version of the AGPA106 as a ceramic mixture built for racing, and keeps the rest to itself. What the rider deals with is the behaviour: a competition material chosen at the start of a weekend and then left alone, so that the feel at the lever on Sunday is the one learned on Friday. On the Tesi H2 1000, where the chassis gives away so little through movement, that repeatability is most of what a rider has to work with.

Set Up on Friday, Raced on Sunday

Weekend work is cumulative. A rider changes one thing at a time, notes what it did and keeps it or discards it, and the brake is part of that process rather than a fixed point. Choosing a compound early and staying with it means the marks around the track stay valid as the fuel load, the tyres and the temperature change around them. Anything that alters the feel of the lever between sessions costs laps while the rider works out what happened.

Between sessions the routine is simple. Put the bike on its stand, spin the front wheel, look at both pads and at the disc, and note what you find. Pads go in as a set, both sides at once, and fresh ones get a few hard applications early in the next session before anyone starts chasing a time. Keep the discs clean, keep an eye on the fluid over a long weekend, and pump the lever back to a firm stop after any wheel comes out.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Bimota Tesi H2 1000, Accossato names the AGPA106 at the front for the 2021 to 2023 model years. The rear pad, the AGPA42, is listed from 2021 to 2024, so the rear entry runs one season beyond the front. No disc for this model appears in the Accossato programme. Each front caliper takes one box of two pads, and both pads in a caliper are changed together.

Road Approval

The AGPA106ZXC comes to us with no German ABE and no test report, so it is catalogued as competition equipment and not for the public road.

Scope of Delivery
