DescriptionThe whole story▼

For owners of a 2016 to 2020 Triumph Bonneville T120 Black who like to pack a bag and head for the Alps, the Pyrenees or the Scottish Highlands, the front brake has to cope with long descents, changing weather and a loaded bike. Accossato's AGPA72 front pad in the Sintered compound is aimed at exactly that. It keeps a steady bite as temperatures change and grips well on wet tarmac.

Key Features

  • AGPA72 front pads for Triumph Bonneville T120 Black, 2016 to 2020
  • Sintered compound, code AGPA72ST
  • Accossato: high, constant grip from cold to hot
  • Effective on a wet disc
  • Keeps its feel on long downhill sections
  • Suits a loaded bike with luggage
  • Also produced as OR, EV1 and EV2
  • No German test documents, competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes Sintered as a compound with a high grip level that stays constant at low and high temperatures and holds up in the wet. On a touring T120 Black those properties give the rider a lever that feels the same on the first hairpin of a pass as on the last.

Mountain Passes With Luggage

A long pass with a loaded bike tests the front brake more than almost any other road ride. The pads heat up on the way down, cool on the way up, and meet wet shade and dry sun in between. A sintered pad keeps its character through that cycle, so you can judge each hairpin with confidence. Add a passenger and soft bags and the value of a predictable front brake is even greater. It is a compound for riders who see their T120 Black as a touring bike rather than only a café-racer ornament.

Before a Tour

Swap both pads, clean the pistons before pushing them back and check disc wear. Old fluid should be replaced before a trip into the mountains. Pump the lever until firm and bed the pads in before you leave.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's application list gives AGPA72 for the front of the Bonneville 1200 T120 Black from 2016 to 2020. For Black bikes from 2021 to 2023, the front pad is AGPA29. The rear pad for all years from 2016 to 2023 is AGPA76. Please count the front calipers, as one box covers one.

Road Approval

There is no ABE or German test mark for AGPA72ST in our records. It is supplied for competition and circuit use.
