DescriptionThe whole story▼

The 128XT is Accossato's complete riser kit for moving a handlebar mount from the original 22 mm clamp diameter up to 28.5 mm, raising the bar by 24 mm in the process. It is aimed at riders who want to fit a 28.5 mm variable-diameter aluminium handlebar onto a machine that left the factory with a slimmer 22 mm clamp, without machining the triple clamp or buying a new one. The kit carries German ABE 101199, so the conversion keeps its road legality documented rather than left to guesswork, and Accossato lists 57 fitments across more than a dozen manufacturers for it.

Key Features

  • Converts a 22 mm handlebar clamp to 28.5 mm diameter
  • Adds 24 mm of rise to the riding position
  • German ABE 101199, documenting road legality for the fitments it covers
  • Black anodised aluminium construction
  • Bolts into the existing triple clamp, no machining required
  • Covers 57 confirmed motorcycle fitments

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato machines the 128XT from aluminium and finishes it in black anodising, the same finish used across its riser and conversion kit range. Because the kit forms part of a documented ABE conversion, Accossato controls the diameter step from 22 mm to 28.5 mm and the 24 mm of added rise closely, so the two risers match each other and the resulting handlebar sits level rather than tilted. The anodised surface is left as the finished layer, with no separate paint or coating added over it, and the kit is supplied ready to clamp into the standard triple clamp bolt pattern.

From 22 mm to 28.5 mm

A 22 mm handlebar flexes more than a 28.5 mm bar simply because it is thinner through the centre section, so riders who want the sturdier feel of a thicker bar without changing the triple clamp use a kit like the 128XT as the bridge between the two standards. Fitting it raises the bar by 24 mm at the same time, which brings the grips closer to an upright position. Once the 128XT is in place, any Accossato handlebar built around the 28.5 mm variable-diameter section, rather than the 22 mm constant-diameter range, can be clamped straight onto the converted mount.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists 57 confirmed fitments for the 128XT, spanning Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Benelli and CFMOTO among others, including the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 (2017-2019), BMW R nineT (2014-2016), Ducati Scrambler 1100 (2018-2021), Ducati Streetfighter V4 (2020-2022) and BMW S1000 XR (2015-2019). The full list, with production years for every covered model, sits in the Fitment tab on this page. Buyers converting a bike outside that list should check the original clamp diameter is 22 mm and confirm the triple clamp bolt spacing matches before ordering, since the kit is built around Accossato's own conversion geometry rather than a universal bracket.

Road Approval

The 128XT carries German ABE 101199, documenting it as legal for road use on the motorcycles named in that approval. Riders should carry the ABE document, available in the Downloads tab on this page, with the vehicle when the conversion is fitted.

Scope of Delivery
