DescriptionThe whole story▼
There is a kind of riding where the clutch never really rests. Steep steps, slippery roots, rock gardens taken at barely more than walking pace: on ground like that the drive to the rear wheel is controlled almost entirely by the left hand, and an FE 250 is light enough that plenty of riders take it there. The lever is under load for hours, and it is also the part that hits a rock when the bike tips over. Accossato lists the AGS17 for the FE 250 from 2018 to 2023, a silver clutch lever in the original shape.

Construction and Material Quality
The AGS17 is listed by Accossato as an original spare parts type, which describes both what it is and what it is not. It is a lever in the form Husqvarna used on the FE 250, sold to repair the bike rather than to change it, and it is not a tuning part. Accossato states that the way these levers are produced leaves them more resistant after damage or a collision, and gives the colour for this bike as silver. The company names no material and no measurements, and none are supplied from our side.
Where the Clutch Does the Work
Riders who take an enduro bike onto genuinely hard ground develop a feel for the clutch that road riders never need. The technique is to keep the engine spinning and to let the lever decide how much of that reaches the tyre, releasing and pulling in small, quick movements while the front wheel is placed deliberately. It is tiring, and it depends completely on a lever that does the same thing every time. A lever with a worn or dry pivot introduces a vagueness you cannot compensate for, and one bent even slightly in an earlier tip-over will meet your fingers in the wrong place after an hour when your hands are tired. Check it before the ride rather than during it. The pivot and its bore should be clean and lightly greased, the lever should return fully under its own spring, and there should be the small amount of free play the handbook specifies at rest so that the master cylinder piston comes back. If the lever is bent, fit a new one and leave the old one out of the toolbox.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGS17 for the FE 250 from 2018 to 2023, with the AGS14 covering 2014 to 2016 on the same model and nothing given for 2017. The same lever appears with us under the FC 250, the FE 501 and the TC 250, among a long row of related machines. On the brake side the FE 250 has the AGD316, the AGD14 and, for 2024, the AGD319, so the year decides there as well. Accossato's tuning parts for this bike are the CNC clutch levers C7283 and C7284.
Road Approval
We cannot show a German ABE or a test mark for the AGS17, because none was issued to us. The lever is listed for racing and competition.
