DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Yamaha XT250, listed by Accossato for the 2008 to 2022 model years, is a light, air-cooled single-cylinder dual-sport bike with a low seat, much loved by new riders, farm and forestry workers and anyone who needs a simple machine for short trips. For that kind of use Accossato offers the AGPA24 front pad in the Organic compound, SKU AGPA24OR. It is a gentle, quiet pad for relaxed riding on lanes, town streets and easy dirt roads, where the brake is used often but rarely hard.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) front pad, SKU AGPA24OR
  • Yamaha XT250, 2008 to 2022
  • Accossato: long-lasting performance and low disc wear
  • Soft, forgiving lever for new riders
  • Quiet in town and on farm tracks
  • Two pads per box, one set for the front caliper
  • Rear pad AGPP99 listed for the same years

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato states that the Organic compound keeps performing over a long period while limiting wear on the disc. On a light XT250 used for daily errands, that means few pad changes and a front disc that lasts. We do not add anything about the composition of the pad and describe it exactly as Accossato presents it.

A First Bike and a Workhorse

The XT250 often plays two roles: a first motorcycle for someone who has just passed their test, and a practical runabout for short journeys to the village or across fields. In both cases the front brake should be easy to judge. An Organic pad builds stopping force gradually as the lever is squeezed, so an inexperienced rider is less likely to be surprised, and it stays quiet at low speed. It also treats the disc kindly when dust and grit from dirt lanes find their way into the caliper. For riders who spend more time in wet weather or on muddy tracks, the ST version of this pad is the other option.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA24 for the front of the Yamaha XT250 from 2008 to 2022, catalogued as XT 250. The XT250 has a single front disc, so one box covers the front brake. For the rear, Accossato offers AGPP99 for the same years. When changing pads, measure the old ones, check the disc for wear or a lip, clean dust from the caliper and the pistons, and pump the lever several times before the first ride so the pressure comes back.

Road Approval

Accossato has not given us an ABE or test certificate for this pad, so it is offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery
