DescriptionThe whole story▼
The CY027 is sized differently from Accossato's sportbike cylinders: its 16 mm piston is built for single-disc front brakes rather than the dual-disc 19 mm bore used elsewhere in the range, and this listing covers its natural anodised body. The fixed 18 mm lever pivot is the same distance Accossato rates for track use and also recommends for the road. A black folding lever is fitted, matching the folding design used on the equivalent 19 mm units.
Key Features
- 16 mm piston diameter, sized for single-disc front brake systems
- Fixed 18 mm lever pivot, for track use and also suited to the road
- Folding lever in black
- Natural anodised aluminium body, left in its machined finish
- CNC-machined, fully made in Italy
- Offset riser that limits body flex under hard braking
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Seals in Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the CY027 body from aluminium and leaves it natural anodised, the same unplated finish used across its non-painted range. Stainless steel secures the folding lever to the clamp, the bleed valve is zinc-plated steel and the seals inside the bore are Formula 1 compound. An offset riser is built into the mount to resist flexing under hard use, and the bore geometry cuts the lever's passive travel by more than half against an ordinary radial unit, matching the design used on Accossato's larger-bore cylinders.
Sized for Single-Disc Front Brakes
Because this body uses a 16 mm piston rather than the 19 mm bore of the dual-disc units, it belongs on bikes with a single front disc, where matching piston size to the brake system matters for lever feel. On this natural-finish CY027 the long lever carries a relieving eyelet (RST) while the short lever is supplied without one (NRST), a detail to check if the eyelet is wanted on both lengths. Buyers select the lever length at checkout; the fixed 18 mm pivot and the rest of the hardware stay the same either way.
Fitment and Compatibility
54 motorcycles are confirmed for the CY027, a list of adventure and roadster models with single-disc front brakes rather than sportbikes, including the BMW R1250RT, Kawasaki Versys 1000, Suzuki V-Strom 650, Honda NT1100 and BMW F800R; the complete list with model years is in the Fitment tab. The same 16x18 cylinder is also sold separately with a nickel-plated body.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato 16x18 radial brake master cylinder with the folding lever in black, long with a relieving eyelet (RST) or short without one (NRST), in the natural anodised body finish. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The brake light switch (ID001 or ID002) and the fluid reservoir are not included.
