DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Aprilia Shiver 900 replaced the 750 in 2017 with a larger V-twin and a thoroughly updated package, and it remains a lively naked bike for riders who enjoy a twin's character. For many owners the season really starts in winter, in a garage with a list of jobs and the bike on a paddock stand. If next year's plans include more circuit days, that list grows accordingly. One such job could be the FC101 from Accossato: a quick-release tank cap for the Shiver 900 of 2017 to 2019, CNC-machined from aluminium, its pawl in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Aprilia Shiver 900, 2017 to 2019
- Listed for the 2017–2018 models and the 2019 ABS model
- CNC-machined aluminium throughout
- Quick-closing pawl
- Six pin colours to choose from
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- No German ABE documented; track use
Construction and Material Quality
The body of the FC101 is CNC-machined aluminium, and Accossato presents it as robust and durable. Its design is new. The cap closes with a quick-closing pawl, which opens the Shiver 900's tank quickly and closes it again without effort. The colour choice applies to that pawl: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold. Should it be damaged one day, it can be bought separately.
A Job for the Quiet Months
Winter is a good time to fit parts that touch the fuel system, because nobody is in a hurry. Plan the job for a day when the tank is low, so there is less fuel to handle, and let the Shiver 900 stand long enough to be completely cold. Clear the bench, open a window or the garage door, and keep heaters with open elements and anything else that could ignite fuel vapour well away. With the original cap off, inspect the seating surface and clean away any grime so that the seal can seat evenly. After fitting the FC101, add a little fuel, close the pawl and leave the bike for an hour or so, then check the rim for dampness or smell. Note the job in your service records, including the pawl colour, so that you know exactly what you fitted when the next season comes.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Shiver 900, Accossato's list gives the models of 2017 and 2018 and the ABS model of 2019. The FC101 replaces the standard filler cap. We list the same cap for the Shiver 750, the Tuono 660 and the MV Agusta Brutale 800. Please check the application list before you order.
Road Approval
The FC101 has neither a German ABE nor a documented parts certificate, so it is a track part. On the road the Shiver 900 keeps its original cap, which normally opens with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
One FC101 fuel tank cap, the pawl in your chosen colour. The replacement pawl is available on its own.
