DescriptionThe whole story▼
Indoor enduro packs a whole day's obstacles into a short, tight lap: stacked tyres, logs, rock gardens and water, all inside a hall or a stadium. Riders who train for it, or enter the smaller club events that copy the format, spend their laps braking hard between obstacles and placing the front wheel precisely on each one. The Sherco SE 250, a light two-stroke from a maker many riders first knew for its trials bikes, is a natural choice for such riding. For the SE 250 from 2014 to 2022 Accossato supplies the B8282, a front brake lever CNC-machined from Ergal 7075 whose blade is hinged to fold forward in a fall.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Sherco SE 250 two-stroke, 2014 to 2022
- Fits the original front brake master cylinder, replacing the stock lever
- Hinged blade that can fold forward when the bike goes down
- Short blade for three fingers
- CNC-machined in Italy from solid Ergal 7075
- Black or orange blade on a dark base
- No German ABE on record; for off-road use and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the B8282 from Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, taking a solid block and machining it on CNC equipment in Italy until the lever is all that is left. What the company wants from a lever comes down to three things: strength, lightness, reliability. There are two parts: the base, finished dark, which mounts at the master cylinder, and the blade in black or orange, which hangs from a folding joint. It is a brake lever, so the blade is the short one, for three fingers.
Tyres, Logs and Rocks
Obstacle riding is braking and placement. The front wheel has to reach a log at the right speed and angle, which means braking hard in the short space between obstacles and letting go at exactly the right moment. Tyre sections are worse: the tyres move and bounce, and the front wheel can drop between them. A brake lever that the fingers find instantly, without looking, is essential when the next obstacle is only a bike length away.
Falls in such sections are frequent and hard. A front wheel slips off a log, a tyre rolls, and the SE 250 is on its side among rocks and timber. If it falls to the right, the brake lever takes the knock, and sometimes a second one as the bike slides. The B8282 is hinged so that the blade can swing forward out of the way, which gives it a fair prospect of surviving. It remains a prospect, not a promise, but in a format where a crash costs seconds and a broken lever can cost the race, it is worth having on the Sherco SE 250.
Fitment and Compatibility
The B8282 is intended for the Sherco SE 250 two-stroke of 2014 to 2022, where it replaces the original lever on the front brake master cylinder. Accossato's folding clutch lever for the same bike and period is the C7283. Orange and black are the colours the two share; blue and red are made only for the clutch.
Road Approval
The B8282 has no German ABE. Even on a road-registered SE 250 it is not approved for public roads: it is for off-road and competition use.
