That is a modest step down in flow for a substantial step up in retention, and it is a trade rather than a ranking. Sprint Filter's published 91.8 per cent for this grade comes from a test using 37 micron particles and cannot be set against figures measured with 100 micron ones. And none of it is a power claim: an element in an unaltered airbox does not make a standard Monster faster in any weather.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCare and cleaning\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eCompressed air from the clean side outwards is the normal service and takes a few minutes. When a winter of salt and spray has left a film, lukewarm water with a mild washing-up detergent removes it; rinse until the water is clear. The element then dries fully in moving air — heat guns, radiators and flames all finish polyester off — and is refitted dry, with nothing sprayed onto the cloth.
