A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again.

Key Features

Dimension A 31 mm

Öhlins part number 01438-09

Dimension B 42.5 mm

Original Öhlins service part

What It Is

At 31 mm, 42.5 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Fork tubes are the structural part of the front end and carry the braking load into the yokes. Inner tubes are coated because they run in bushings and seals for their whole life. Axle clamps and lower legs are machined to hold the axle without distorting the fork.

Genuine Service Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Order under 01438-09. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. dimension a 31 mm, dimension b 42.5 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Fork parts are specific to the fork, not to the motorcycle it happens to be fitted to. Cartridge tubes sit inside the fork leg and do the actual damping.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01438-09

Category: Fork Parts

Dimension A: 31 mm

Dimension B: 42.5 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01438-09_ff1d7357-9540-4e03-9e73-67ed84fd729f.png?v=1788871162
