DescriptionThe whole story▼
At the back of a Moto Guzzi Sport 1200 8V, the brake is mainly a helper: it steadies the bike at low speed, holds it on a hill start and adds a little stopping power in town. Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in the Organic (OR) compound gives that everyday role a smooth, quiet feel and puts little wear on the disc. Accossato lists this rear pad for the Sport 1200 8V from 2012 to 2013 and the Sport 1200 8V SE from 2012 to 2015.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pads for the Moto Guzzi Sport 1200 8V
- Sport 1200 8V, 2012 to 2013
- Sport 1200 8V SE, 2012 to 2015
- Long service and limited disc wear, according to Accossato
- Smooth pedal feel at low speed
- Two pads in the box
- No German ABE; sold for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the organic compound as one that performs for a long time and limits disc wear. That suits the rear brake of a road bike well: the pedal is pressed often but gently, frequently while cold, and a pad that grips progressively without needing heat makes low-speed control easier. Accossato also mentions strong stopping and good fade resistance for its pads.
Low-Speed Control
Filtering through traffic or turning in a narrow street on the Sport 1200 8V is easier with a light drag on the rear brake. An organic pad makes that input smooth, quiet and predictable, and it keeps disc wear down over many small applications.
Accossato also makes this rear pad in Sintered (ST), STMX and EV1 versions, for touring in the wet, off-road use and sporty riding respectively. For daily riding, OR is the calm option. Clean the pistons whenever the pads come out and check the rear fluid level regularly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Both the base Sport 1200 8V (2012 to 2013) and the SE (2012 to 2015) are on Accossato's AGPA29 list. There is only one caliper at the back, so a single box does the job. For the front wheel the Italian maker lists AGPA96, and its DKS032 disc also appears for this Sport. Bed the new pads in with several gentle applications before relying on them.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or approval document for this pad, so it is offered for track and competition use.
