DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MT-09 has always been a motorcycle that owners like to make their own. Exhausts, tail units, mirrors and paint are often changed within months of purchase, and the levers usually follow, because they are the parts you look at and touch on every ride. The Accossato ESV04A fits that kind of project on the left side of the bar: a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the 2014 to 2020 MT-09, with adjustable reach and a blade anodised in one of seven colours.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the MT-09, model years 2014 to 2020
- Seven blade colours on a black anodised hub
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Short, standard (about 138 mm) and long blades
- Machined from aluminium, not cast
- One rigid piece without a hinge
- Fits at the original clutch mounting
- Comes in its own Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
Each ESV04A is milled from aluminium and then anodised in two tones. The hub stays black on every lever, which lets it sit quietly next to the switchgear, while the blade carries the colour. Anodising is not paint: it converts the surface of the aluminium into a hard, coloured layer, so the finish wears slowly and does not chip the way paint does. Mechanically, the lever is simple. The reach adjuster sits close to the pivot, and the blade runs as a single fixed piece to its end, with no folding joint that could add play at the friction point.
Part of a Personal Build
Customising an MT-09 tends to follow a plan, even when it begins with a single part, and a lever is a good place to set the tone because it sits right in your line of sight from the saddle. If the rest of the bike is dark, a black or silver blade keeps the cockpit calm. If you have added coloured accents elsewhere, the blade can pick up one of them, and the brake side can be ordered to match. Unlike most visual changes, this one also alters how the bike feels. The adjuster sets the clutch to your hand instead of an average one, and the three lengths change the effort: a long blade gives more leverage and a lighter pull, while a short one leaves the outer fingers on the bar at the cost of a firmer action. Not every colour exists in every length. Black and red are made as standard levers only, silver as standard or short, and blue, gold, green and orange in all three, so decide on the length first if you have a particular combination in mind for your MT-09.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's reference for the MT-09 clutch is the ESV04A, listed from 2014 to 2020. That span covers the original MT-09 and the facelifted model sold from 2017. The lever replaces the stock item at the original clutch mounting. For the brake side of the same years, the EDF016 is listed with the same hub and colour choices, so a matching pair is possible if your build calls for one.
Road Approval
The ESV04A comes without a documented German ABE and is offered for circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
