Nobody buys an NC750 for the drama. It is a motorcycle chosen with a calculator: low consumption, long service intervals, a storage compartment where the fuel tank would normally sit, and a purchase price that made sense against the alternative of driving. Owners of bikes bought that way tend to look at every subsequent expense the same cool way — which is the right frame for this part, because the honest case for a Sprint Filter is a cost case rather than a power case. The arithmetic over ten years

A paper element is cheap in isolation and not cheap in sequence. Fitted at every scheduled service across a decade of use, it becomes a recurring line: the part, the trip or the postage to get it, and the labour if somebody else does the work. Set against that, a washable element is a single purchase followed by a compressed-air line you already own. This is not a dramatic saving and it would be dishonest to dress it up as one — it is the sort of small, dull, compounding economy that suits an NC750 exactly, and it is the same argument the bike itself makes about fuel.

What you are not buying

You are not buying horsepower. A stock 745 cc twin with standard mapping is not transformed by an air filter, and any claim to the contrary should be treated with suspicion. What the P08 changes is the shape of the intake restriction over time: it starts low, and after a clean it is low again, rather than creeping upward through the interval as a loading paper element does. The rider feels that at the throttle in traffic, not on a dyno sheet — and the wallet feels it at the point where the replacement was never ordered.

Care and cleaning

The running cost of this element is a compressor and ten minutes. Air from the clean side, worked outwards, is the routine; lukewarm water with a mild detergent covers what air will not, rinsed until the water runs clear.
