Where It Sits
Dimensionally this is 11.8 mm, 3.5 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Seal heads combine the oil seal, the dust seal and the bushing in one assembly. Öhlins specifies the compound by position: NBR where oil is the concern, FKM where heat is. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks.

Getting the Number Right
Order under 04722-06. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Check inner diameter 11.8 mm, cross section 3.5 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. The groove does half the work: the ring only seals if the groove is clean and undamaged. The dust seal does the hard work: it keeps the grit that would score the shaft away from the oil seal.
