The EVO Spoiler in matt black, the finish AGV fits to the Mono Matt Carbon and the Intrepido helmets, sold here as a replacement part for the AGV Pista GP RR S.
The number behind the shape
A helmet at speed generates lift, and lift on a helmet is felt as load on the neck. AGV publishes the figure for the Pista family: the rear aerofoil brings that lift down to 1.6 kg at 160 km/h, against a helmet weighing roughly the same, so the two effectively cancel. The wedge chinguard contributes the other half of the picture, with a measured drag of 4 kg at the same speed.
The EVO Spoiler is the redrawn version of that part for the Pista GP RR S. It is the visible change over the outgoing Pista GP RR.
Why it unbolts
The screws are plastic and shear under load. In a slide the spoiler separates from the shell rather than hooking on a kerb, a rumble strip or the lip of a gravel trap. Replacing them with metal screws defeats the design.
Matt care
Warm water, mild soap, a soft cloth, no pressure. A satin clear coat burnishes to a permanent shiny patch if you scrub it, and no polish will bring the matt back.
