DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Kawasaki Z400 with soft bags and a tail pack is a surprisingly capable little tourer, and many owners use one for weekend trips into the hills. For that kind of riding Accossato offers the AGPA77 pad in the Sintered (ST) compound, listed for the Z400 from 2019 to 2024 for both front and rear. Sintered pads give a firm and repeatable response on wet mountain roads and after long descents, so the brakes feel the same at the end of the day as they did at breakfast.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) compound for front or rear
- Listed for the Kawasaki Z400, 2019 to 2024
- Constant grip level across temperatures
- Wet-weather performance noted by Accossato
- Suited to touring with soft luggage
- Two pads for one caliper
- Organic (OR) option in the same shape
Construction and Material Quality
According to Accossato, the sintered mix maintains high, constant grip at both low and high temperatures and works well on a wet disc. On a light bike ridden loaded over mountain passes, that steadiness matters more than outright bite. Accossato, which won an enduro world title back in 1985, also designs its pads for low wear and long life, with heat build-up kept down to limit fade.
Weekend Touring on a Small Twin
Long descents on a loaded Z400 mean the brakes work for minutes at a time, and a sudden shower can change the grip under your tyres in seconds. A sintered pad gives the rider a consistent lever and pedal through those changes. Before a trip, check both reservoirs, look at the pad thickness and make sure the discs are clean. If you are fitting new pads just before leaving, allow time to bed them in on local roads first.
Fitment and Compatibility
These pads are listed for the Kawasaki Z400 from 2019 to 2024 (Z 400 2019-2024) and fit the front and rear calipers. One box equips one caliper; since the Z400 runs a single front disc, a complete change of both ends takes two boxes. Accossato's DK237 and DK271 discs are listed for the model, and the same shape is available in Organic (OR).
Road Approval
Our records show no ABE or test mark for these pads, so they are offered for racing and competition use.
