DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some owners come back to their Diavel in the morning to find it moved, scratched and lying on its side. An attempted theft often leaves exactly this picture: a forced steering lock, signs of tampering around the ignition, and a bike that was pushed or dropped when the thieves gave up. The clutch lever on the left is frequently among the casualties. Accossato's AGS199 is a silver replacement clutch lever in the original form for the Diavel, listed from 2011 to 2018 for the standard bike and for the Cromo, Dark and Strada versions.
Key Features
- Original-type replacement clutch lever for the Ducati Diavel
- Model years 2011 to 2018 according to Accossato
- Also listed for the Diavel Cromo, Dark and Strada
- Silver
- Left handlebar, clutch
- Designed by Accossato as an affordable spare
- Accossato: its production process increases resistance after damage or a crash
- One lever; no German ABE or test mark, for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
After a break-in attempt, the aim is to make the bike whole again without turning the repair into a project. The AGS199 is a spare of the original type, so the left side of the Diavel looks as Ducati built it once the lever is fitted. Accossato's design goal for these levers was value for money, and the company reports that its production method gives them increased resistance after damage or collisions. The lever is silver, as listed for this bike; the maker offers no further technical details.
The Morning After
Resist the urge to tidy up straight away. Photograph the Diavel where it stands or lies, report the attempt to the police and keep the reference number, since your insurer will very likely ask for it. Then look beyond the lever. Check whether the steering lock still engages, whether the ignition switch turns normally and whether any wiring near the headstock or under the seat has been pulled. If the bike was dropped, inspect the handlebar, the mirrors and the footpegs too. Only when the security side is sorted should the cosmetic repairs begin. Replacing the clutch lever is the easy part: remove the pivot, clean it and its bore, add a thin coat of grease and fit the AGS199 so that it moves freely. Confirm that the clutch switch reacts, work the lever several times with the engine off and test the clutch at a standstill. Afterwards, a disc lock or a ground anchor makes a second visit less attractive.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGS199 for the Diavel 1200 of 2011 to 2018, and in addition for the Cromo of 2012 and 2013 and for the Dark and the Strada of 2013 and 2014. A black clutch lever, the AGS200, is listed for the standard bike over the same years, so the colour of the lever that was on your Diavel is the first thing to check. The brake side is covered by the black AGD209. We also carry the AGS199 for the Diavel Carbon, the X Diavel and the Monster 1200 S. Accossato's CNC levers EDF099 and ESH011 are there if you would rather fit a tuning part.
Road Approval
For the AGS199 we hold no test or approval documents, so there is neither a German ABE nor a test mark; we therefore list the lever for racing and competition use.
