DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 is a road machine through and through: tall, comfortable, quick across country and happiest on a long route with luggage. Accossato lists it under the Tiger 1050 name with the years 2007 to 2021 and offers the FC101 for it, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium. Before anything else is said about the part, it is worth being clear about who it is for, because on this particular bike the honest answer will not suit every buyer.

- Pawl available separately as a spare part

Construction and Material Quality
As with the rest of the range, Accossato machines this cap wholly from aluminium on CNC equipment and calls it robust and durable, with a design of its own rather than a copy of the original. The quick-closing pawl is what you notice in use: the Tiger Sport's tank opens with one movement and closes with another. The pin in the pawl is offered in six colours and is specified when the order is placed. A damaged pawl can be bought by itself, which keeps the cap serviceable over a long ownership.
A Part That Asks a Question First
Most parts are sold with a list of reasons to buy them. This one comes with a question: where will the motorcycle actually be ridden? A quick-release cap is made for a paddock, where the tank is opened repeatedly in a day and the machine never leaves a closed site. A Tiger Sport 1050 used as it was designed to be used, on public roads, is a different case, and there the original cap has an advantage that no amount of machining replaces. If your Tiger goes to track days, rider training or closed-course events, the Accossato is a sensible piece of equipment for those days. If it does not, we would rather you knew that before ordering than afterwards.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list carries this machine as Tiger 1050 with the model years 2007 to 2021, and that entry is what this product covers. At Inter-Pace the FC101 is also listed for the Aprilia Tuono 660, the Aprilia Shiver 750 and the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR. Please check the entry against your own machine before ordering.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC101, which is why we sell it for closed circuits. The standard cap of the Tiger Sport normally opens with the ignition key and belongs on the bike for every journey on public roads.
