It was built for 24-hour races, it wanted heat before it gave its best, and it asked a lot of the disc in return. The RS 660 rarely provides that heat: the discs are light, the bike is light, and on the road they may never get properly warm. EXR, which replaces EXC from 2026, is explicitly better in the cold - and that single change is what makes an endurance-grade compound sensible on this machine.

Key Features

Better cold performance than the EXC Endurance compound it replaces, which matters most on a light bike whose discs stay cool

Up to 20 percent more braking force in the second phase of braking

More progressive build-up than EXC while keeping a comparable initial bite - the modulation an RS 660 rider trades corner speed on

New backing plate alloy, specified for EXR rather than carried over from the previous compound

Durability equal to or better than EXC, so the higher price buys distance as well as performance

Same B007 shape as the EX Race version - 85.0 by 51.0 mm, 8.0 mm thick; one pack per caliper, two for the RS 660's twin discs

Construction and Material Quality

EXR keeps the ceramic-sintered friction material and the Japanese manufacture that define the range, but sits on a newly specified backing plate alloy. The pad shape is unchanged from B007, so nothing about installation differs: same 85.0 by 51.0 mm friction face, same 8.0 mm thickness, same window in the radial caliper. What changes is entirely in the mixture and the plate behind it.

Performance and Feel

An RS 660 is ridden on entry speed, and the useful question is how early the pad starts working. EX Race answers that with a soft, immediately available compound. EXC answered it badly for this bike - strong once hot, vague before. EXR is ZCOO's correction: EXC-level bite, better behaviour when cold, and a progression curve that lets the rider bleed pressure off rather than release in a step. On a middleweight the twenty percent gain in the second phase is less about stopping distance than about how confidently you can keep the brake on while turning.

Fitment and Compatibility

Listed by ZCOO for the Aprilia RS 660 from 2020 through 2026. The same B007 shape also covers the Tuono 660 and the RS 660 Trofeo and Extrem. Front axle only. EXR reached the market at the start of September 2026 and ZCOO has published no data sheet beyond the characteristics given here.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.

Specifications

Part number: Z-B007-EXR (EAN 4950545771780)

Pad code: ZRM-B007C

Compound: ZCOO EXR - ceramic-sintered, successor to EXC Endurance

Pad dimensions: 85.0 x 51.0 x 8.0 mm (L x H x thickness)

Caliper family: Brembo

Position: Front axle only

Fitment: Aprilia RS 660, 2020-2026

Contents per pack: 1 set = 2 pads for one caliper; this machine needs two packs for the front axle

Road approval: No ECE R90 type approval documented - track and competition use

Manufacturer: Okada Corporation, Japan

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/B007-produkt_5fd0eae1-ef39-4577-93ab-f5b8b622a4fe.png?v=1788770400
