One Unit, Two Functions
Ducati integrates the right-hand controls into the throttle housing. A worn contact takes the whole assembly, which makes a machined replacement covering both the sensible answer.
A Sports Bike You Can Ride
The 937 cc Testastretta in a steel trellis with a full fairing and bars a normal person can reach. It is the most sensible fast motorcycle Ducati makes.
An Adjustable Screen
Fifty millimetres of movement without tools. On a bike intended for real journeys that single feature does more for usability than most of the electronics do.
Sealed Elements
Contacts enclosed within the machined body. A SuperSport is ridden in weather rather than waited out, and a moulded seam is where that eventually reaches a terminal.
Hours at Partial Throttle
Distance riding means holding an opening rather than working it constantly. A true bore keeps that position stable and the wrist considerably fresher over a long day.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium. There is no coating to lift from an edge after years of gloves, sunlight and rain.
Cut From Solid
Ergal 7075 at roughly twice the yield strength of ordinary machined alloy. On a clamped bar component the material determines whether it stays exactly where it was fitted.
A Trellis Frame
Ducati built the SuperSport around a conventional frame while its superbikes had abandoned them. At road speeds the difference in feel is real and it is part of why the bike works.
Original Connector
Pre-wired to Ducati's plug so nothing is spliced. The whole exchange is mechanical and takes about a quarter of an hour.
