The Tuono 660 is the naked version of the RS. The JP CO AP660N replaces its throttle housing and right-hand switch block with one machined body.

Ninety-Five Horsepower, Upright
Aprilia took the RS 660's parallel twin, retuned it slightly for midrange, fitted a wide handlebar and removed the fairing. The Tuono 660 is the more practical of the two and gives up very little in the process.
A Class Aprilia Created
Middleweight nakeds with litre-bike electronics did not really exist before the Tuono 660. Six-axis inertial measurement, cornering ABS, cruise control and adjustable engine braking on a 95 hp twin was an unusual specification in 2021.
Two Housings Across the Range
Aprilia revised the throttle assembly partway through production, and JetPrime lists both versions. They do not interchange, so establishing which one a specific motorcycle carries is worth doing before ordering.
Switch Inside the Housing
The right-hand controls sit within the throttle assembly. Renewing either means renewing both, which this unit does from a single billet using the motorcycle's own connector.
Rain Reaches the Bar
No fairing and only a token flyscreen. Water arrives at the controls at road speed and stays there, and the joint in a cast housing with a clipped cover is exactly where it eventually causes an intermittent fault.
Four Anodised Finishes
Black, blue, red and titanium, all converted into the surface. On a Tuono in Aprilia's own colours, red is already present on the bodywork and reads as a continuation.
Machined From Solid
Cut from one block with sealed contacts inside. The bore the throttle tube runs in is machined rather than formed, which keeps the sensor reading consistently over years rather than months.
