The first-generation Brutale 800 carries its right-hand controls on a moulded housing shared across MV's range. The JP PD MV002 replaces it with milled Ergal on a universal clamp pattern.

Seven Hundred and Ninety-Eight Cubic Centimetres
MV took the F3's triple, retuned it for midrange and dropped it into the Brutale chassis. The result makes around 125 hp in this generation and delivers it with a hard, metallic edge that no parallel twin or inline four in the class comes close to matching.
A Crankshaft Turning Backwards
The engine's crank rotates against the direction of the wheels, cancelling part of their gyroscopic resistance to being tipped over. MV was first to production with the idea and the Brutale falls into corners in a way that takes riders arriving from Japanese machinery several rides to trust.
The Cockpit Is the Whole View
A naked motorcycle puts its handlebar area directly in front of the rider with nothing else to look at, and it forms a substantial part of how the bike reads from outside as well. The moulded switch housing is the component that most obviously came from a parts bin.
Weather Arrives Directly
There is no screen and no fairing to send water anywhere but at the controls. Rain reaches the switchgear at road speed and stays there, and the joint between the two halves of a moulded assembly is exactly where it eventually finds a way in.
Universal Clamp Geometry
The switch shares its bolts with the front brake master cylinder clamp. MV fits Brembo units whose geometry differs from the aftermarket radial cylinders owners frequently fit, and the universal plate accepts both arrangements without compromise.
Three Anodised Finishes
Black, red and titanium. Red appears on MV's own liveries frequently enough that it reads as a continuation rather than an addition, and all three are surface conversions rather than coatings, so a scrape dulls the component instead of exposing bright metal.
Machined From One Billet
The standard assembly is two mouldings clipped around the bar. Cutting the replacement from a single block of Ergal 7075 removes the joint entirely, which matters for the buttons that sit across it and for keeping water away from the contacts underneath.
