Shaped for an Adventure Bar
Wide, high and with a great deal of steering lock actually used. A block drawn around that geometry sits properly at full lock where a general-fit body forces its cables.
Aligned Fasteners
One of Ducati's two clamp patterns. Establishing which is fitted takes thirty seconds with the old block loosened and it prevents the most common return in this category.
Even Pressure on the Bar
A machined clamp meets the tube across its whole radius. That is why a milled block does not creep round under the leverage a wide handlebar generates.
Fasteners That Survive Removal
Threads cut into solid aluminium take a proper torque and take it again. On a bike whose handlebars are replaced after drops, that is a practical rather than theoretical benefit.
Parked in the Wet
Water that collects in a joint overnight has hours to work inward. Rain at speed mostly blows past, which is why a jointless body outlasts one with a lid by years.
Sealed Elements
The contacts sit within the machined body itself. Grit worked past a clipped cover never dries out again, and this design gives it nowhere to start.
Five Kilograms and a Lower Seat
Ducati renamed the 950 and lightened it through a new rear subframe and shock, then brought the seat down. The second change mattered more to buyers than the first.
Ninety-Six Newton Metres
Delivered low enough that the V2 never asks to be revved. On a loaded bike two-up on a mountain pass that is the figure describing the experience.
Two Heights Offered
Ducati sold a lowered version with shorter suspension alongside the standard one. It is why a good many riders who could never manage a Multistrada now own one.
