The 2017 Assembly
Aprilia redesigned the left-hand controls alongside the engine and fairing update. This part number covers those two model years; the earlier bikes take the TC version and the two do not swap.
Two Hundred and One Horsepower
The final version of the 999.6 cc V4 reached its peak at 13.000 rpm with a new airbox and revised camshafts. Aprilia had never enlarged the engine and never needed to across the whole generation.
The Blue Button at the Bottom
Street and race blocks carry identical functions in a different order. Moving the most-used control to the end of the column lets a gloved thumb find it by position rather than by looking down.
Six Axes Feeding Everything
The inertial platform introduced in 2017 gave ABS and traction control lean angle. The rider aids stopped behaving as separate systems, which is most obvious when the bike is picked up out of a corner under power.
More Menus, More Cycles
Every generation of electronics adds settings and every setting is reached from this block. The 2017 bike's contacts see substantially more operations across a season than a 2009 machine's ever did.
Four Finishes
Black, blue, red and titanium, converted into the surface. None of them carries printing, so none of them has a legend to fade under sunlight and glove leather.
Sealed and Milled
Cut from a single block with the elements enclosed. Nothing clips together, which removes both the ingress path and the fastener that eventually rattles under a narrow-angle V4.
Original Connector
Pre-wired to Aprilia's plug despite the rearranged layout. The block is exchanged mechanically and the electronics never learn that anything happened.
