The JP ES KIT09 combines the solenoid eliminator and the cylinder head cover for the Diavel V4, so the panel stays clear and nothing plastic is left bolted to the engine.

Fitted Cold
Aluminium threads in a warm cylinder head are unforgiving. There is no reason to rush this and every reason to wait for the engine to cool.
No Change to the Map
The fuelling tables are untouched. What changes is that exhaust readings stop being diluted by air the system was injecting.
What the Engine Feels
Nothing. The system injects air into the exhaust after combustion, so its removal changes nothing the crankshaft experiences.
The Airbox End
Removing the hose leaves an opening in the intake, and closing that is not optional. Unfiltered air is worse than the system ever was.
Two Prices, One Job
Bought together the parts cost less than separately, and the access only has to be paid for once in labour or in evenings.
Fitted Cold, Without Exception
Aluminium threads in a warm cylinder head strip more easily than most people expect. There is no reason to attempt this on a hot engine and one very good reason not to.
Why the Two Halves Belong Together
The solenoid is an electrical component the controller monitors; the reed housing is a mechanical one bolted to the cylinder head. Answering one without addressing the other leaves either a warning on the panel or a plastic box that is going to crack eventually. Both sit behind the same tank and the same airbox, so doing them separately means paying for that access twice.
The Argument Against Doing It At All
A working secondary air system costs nothing, does no harm and keeps the motorcycle in road specification everywhere it is sold. On a newer machine with sound reeds that is a genuinely reasonable position, and this kit is aimed at the owners for whom it no longer applies.
