Four Cylinders at That Price
Benelli's 600 four was remarkable mainly for existing at all in a class where nobody else was competing on price. It needs revs to give its best.
Response Rather Than Power
The manufacturer's claim is throttle response and smoothness, not horsepower. Anybody expecting a figure on a dyno sheet has misread the product. What changes is how the engine answers a small movement of the hand, which is where most riding actually happens.
The Modest Claim
Improve throttle response and smoothness without remapping. That is what the manufacturer says and it is what the product does. There is no third page of promises and there does not need to be.
Where It Makes the Biggest Difference
An older injected machine with an aftermarket exhaust, ridden briskly on roads. That combination is where the standard mixture is furthest from what the engine now wants.
Keeping It or Selling It
The module can go with the motorcycle or come off before the advertisement is written. Both happen and neither harms the machine.
Compared With a Remap
A flash of the original controller reaches further and is harder to undo. This is the narrow, cheap, reversible option, and for most road riders it addresses the actual complaint.
Riding Modes Still Work
On a ride-by-wire machine the rain and sport settings continue to shape the throttle exactly as before. The module operates downstream of all of that and cannot see which mode is selected.
Where the Development Happens
JetPrime works the curve out on their own equipment for each engine family. That is invisible in the product and it is the entire reason a preset module can work at all.
