No Fairing to Remove
On a naked bike the headlight is simply unbolted, which makes it the quickest significant weight saving at the front of the motorcycle.
Lamp Monitoring
Aprilia checks current through the lighting circuit. An absent headlight is read as a failure and the warning stays until it is answered.
Answering the Circuit
The eliminator presents the expected load. Nothing appears on the panel and nothing is stored for a later scan.
A Number Board
Most track-prepared Tuonos gain a plate where the light was. It satisfies the organisers, weighs almost nothing and uses the same mounting points.
The Superbike Frame
The current Tuono uses the RSV4 chassis with a longer swingarm and a wide bar. It is a superbike with the fairing left off and the ergonomics changed.
Ahead of the Steering Axis
A headlight and its bracket sit high and forward, where mass costs the most. Removing them is felt at every direction change.

The loom stays as the factory built it and the standard parts refit without preparation.

Cruise Control on a Naked Superbike
It sounds absurd until a motorway section appears between two good roads and the alternative is holding a hundred and seventy-five horsepower steady with a wrist. Aprilia fitted it because the people buying Tuonos actually ride them long distances.
Wind Is the Limit
Without a fairing the rider is the aerodynamics, which is why a Tuono lap time depends on how fit the person on it is rather than on the last five horsepower. It is also why nobody who has ridden one hard at a circuit complains about the riding position afterwards.
