The JP ES 002 empties the space the charcoal canister took up on the SuperSport 939 S and closes the fuel system properly rather than leaving the tank to breathe through nothing.

Ohlins Suspension

Overfilling Ruins It

Hard starting gets blamed on the battery, the plugs and the fuel pump before anybody mentions the canister. By then the owner has spent more than removal would cost.
What Owners Report
Hard starting when the tank is full, an uneven idle for the first minutes and a smell of fuel around the machine. Each has other causes, which is why the canister is rarely suspected.
Why Owners Remove It
It is a plastic drum with several hoses and a purge valve, tucked into whatever space Ducati could find, and on most models that space is exactly where an exhaust, a shock reservoir or a set of luggage brackets wants to go. Removing it frees a genuinely useful volume and takes a surprising amount of hose out of the motorcycle.
The Purge Valve Is the Electrical Half
It is a small solenoid the controller opens once the engine is warm, and it is the part that stores a fault when the hardware disappears. Understanding that it is separate from the canister itself explains why the kit contains a connector as well as a set of plugs.
