DescriptionThe whole story▼
The GSX-S1000F wraps the four-cylinder engine and upright riding position of the GSX-S1000 in a fairing, and many owners use it for exactly what that suggests: long motorway stretches to reach the roads they really want to ride. On those stretches the clutch sits idle for an hour at a time, until a queue appears. Accossato's ESS035 is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the GSX-S1000F, listed from 2016 to 2021, with an adjustable distance to the grip.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Suzuki GSX-S1000F, 2016 to 2021
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable reach to the grip
- Blades short, standard (about 138 mm) or long, depending on colour
- Long version for a lighter pull in blue, gold, green and orange
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised; black hub
- Fixed, hinge-free blade
Construction and Material Quality
Behind a fairing, the levers are among the few mechanical parts still in view, so their finish counts. Accossato mills the ESS035 from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it, producing a durable coloured surface that is part of the metal rather than a coating on it. The hub, where the pivot and the reach adjuster are located, is black on every version; only the blade carries the colour. The lever is fixed from end to end, without a hinge.
An Hour in Sixth, Then a Queue
On a long motorway run the left hand has almost nothing to do. The GSX-S1000F sits in top gear for mile after mile, the hand rests on the grip, and gradually it cools and stiffens, particularly on a fresh morning. Then the traffic ahead slows, brake lights come on, and within a minute the clutch is being pulled again and again as the queue edges forward. That first minute is the awkward one: the hand is cold, the fingers are slow, and the friction point has to be found all over again. A lever set close enough that the fingers do not need to stretch makes the change of pace easier. Adjust the ESS035 so that you can cover it with two fingers without lifting your palm from the grip, and flex the fingers now and then during the long stretch so that they stay ready. In a long queue, the lighter pull of the long blade keeps the left hand from tiring before the traffic clears. When the road opens up again, the clutch falls silent until the next exit.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESS035 for the GSX-S1000F from 2016 to 2021, in two entries, one for 2016 alone and one for 2016 to 2021. It replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting. Accossato does not list a brake lever for the GSX-S1000F, so this product covers the clutch side only. Silver blades come short or standard; black and red come in the standard length only.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for this GSX-S1000F clutch lever, so it is sold for the track.
