DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a GSX-R750, the left hand is the one that leaves the bar. On the road and even more on track, it lets go to wipe a visor, to wave a rider through or to signal before the pit lane, then has to land back on the grip and the lever by feel, often just before a braking zone and a run of downshifts. Accossato's ESS035 is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the GSX-R750 of 2006 to 2021, and its adjustable reach lets you put the blade exactly where the returning fingers expect it.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Suzuki GSX-R750, 2006 to 2021
- Replaces the original lever at the stock clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance from the grip
- Three blade lengths depending on colour; standard approximately 138 mm
- Machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub, blade in seven colours
- One-piece blade, no hinge
Construction and Material Quality
Finding a lever by feel only works if the lever is always in the same place and always feels the same, and a fixed design helps with both. The ESS035 has no folding joint that could leave the blade at a slightly different angle after a knock. Accossato machines it from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it afterwards, with the black hub holding the pivot and the reach adjuster and the blade taking the colour you order. The anodised surface is hard wearing and holds its colour.
A Hand Off the Bar and Back Again
Track-day briefings commonly ask riders to raise a hand before slowing off the racing line or turning into the pit lane, and on the road the left hand does the waving, the visor wiping and the adjusting of vents. Each time, the hand returns to the bar at speed, and it rarely has long to settle; often the next thing it must do is pull the clutch for a downshift into a corner. If the lever sits where the fingers expect it, the return is automatic. If it sits a little further out than the hand remembers, the fingers grope for it and the downshift comes late. Set the ESS035 in your normal riding position with the gloves you ride in, then test the return: take the hand away, bring it back without looking, and see whether the fingers land on the blade at the first attempt. Adjust until they do. After that, leave the setting alone on your GSX-R750, because the whole point is a lever that is always in the same place.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESS035 for the GSX-R750 from 2006 to 2021, split into entries for 2006 to 2014 and 2015 to 2021, and it takes the place of the stock lever at the original clutch mounting. The EDF035 brake lever for the GSX-R750 is listed from 2004 to 2021, so bikes from 2004 and 2005 are covered only on the brake side. Silver blades are made short or standard; black and red standard only.
Road Approval
Please note: the ESS035 comes without a documented German ABE and is sold for track use.
