Why the Sensor Has to Move

The standard Ténéré collector carries its lambda sensor close to the catalyst. Spark's racing manifold has no catalyst, so the boss sits elsewhere on the pipe — far enough away that the original connector no longer reaches its counterpart on the loom.

The choice is between extending the harness properly and cutting into it. Spark supplies the first option as a catalogue article so that nobody has to take a knife to a sensor circuit.

It Plugs In

The cable goes between the sensor and the socket on the motorcycle's own loom. Nothing is cut, nothing is soldered, and it comes back out if the standard collector is refitted later — which matters if the bike is going to be sold on or handed back to a leasing company.

Around 30 cm is enough for the routing Spark's manifold asks for, with slack to keep the cable clear of the header.

Euro5 Only

Spark names this article specifically for fitting the GYA8504 manifold on Euro5 motorcycles, where the aim is to keep the lambda sensor working without remapping the bike.

Euro5+ machines are a different case: there the manifold requires remapping regardless, and the mapping work is what settles how the sensor is handled. If you are unsure which generation the bike is, the registration document and the model year decide it — 2019 to 2020 machines are Euro4, and the change to Euro5+ came with the 2025 model.
