DescriptionThe whole story

The JP ES 025 closes the Street Triple 765 S's sidestand input so the bike runs once the stand and switch have gone.

Key Features

  • Triumph Street Triple 765 S (2017–2022)
  • Satisfies the sidestand input
  • No warning on the instrument panel
  • Plugs into Triumph's own connector
  • Nothing cut, nothing spliced
  • Standard switch refits at any time

Showa Forks and a Showa Shock

Adjustable for preload only, which is where the S saves money. It is the honest compromise and it works perfectly well for most riders.

Available Restricted

Triumph offered an A2 version of the S, which put a genuine three-cylinder Street Triple within reach of riders on a restricted licence.

Gear and Stand Together

The controller reads both and acts only when they disagree. A neutral gearbox with the stand down is perfectly acceptable to it.

Why the Stand Comes Off

Weight, ground clearance and an organiser who would rather not see one. It is among the first components removed from any bike heading to a circuit.

Carrying a Spare

Riders heading somewhere remote sometimes carry a replacement switch. An eliminator weighs less and solves the problem permanently rather than once.

The Job in Full

Put the motorcycle on a paddock stand, find the connector near the swingarm pivot, unplug the switch, plug in the eliminator and secure the lead. Nothing else is required and no tool beyond what is already in hand.

Record the Change

Anybody working on the motorcycle later will assume the interlock behaves as Triumph built it, and an eliminator is not obvious to somebody who is not looking for one. A line in the service book prevents an hour of confusion.

Keeping the Standard Switch

Even a failed unit is worth putting in the parts box, because it makes the eventual refit straightforward and a buyer will want to see one. It takes up no space at all.

On a Motorcycle Being Sold

Refitting the standard switch takes five minutes and removes a question the buyer would otherwise have to ask.
