DescriptionThe whole story▼
A lot of cruiser riding happens in company: club ride-outs, charity runs, the slow crawl through a town when a hundred bikes arrive at the same meeting. For anyone riding a Triumph Speedmaster, those are the moments when the clutch hand works hardest. Accossato's EST333 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the Speedmaster of 2006 to 2016. It replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting and has a reach you can adjust to your hand.
Key Features
- Fits the Speedmaster from 2006 to 2016
- Also listed for the fuel-injected 865 cc Speedmaster of 2008 to 2010
- Mounted at the original clutch mounting
- Reach adjustable
- Standard blade about 138 mm in every colour; long blade in gold, blue, green and orange
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Black hub, coloured blade, no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
The EST333 is CNC-machined from aluminium and then anodised, black on the hub and coloured on the blade. The hub carries the pivot, with the reach adjuster close by. Along its length the blade is fixed, without a hinge, so the lever feels the same at the end of a long ride-out as it did at the start. Because the anodised colour is formed in the metal's surface, it stands up to gloves and a regular wipe with a soft cloth, which matters on a cruiser that is kept clean.
Slow Processions and Ride-Outs
Riding in a large group at low speed is harder than it looks. The pace is set by the slowest bike, gaps open and close, and there are long stretches of rolling at walking pace with the clutch half engaged. On the Speedmaster, with its relaxed cruiser riding position, balance at that speed comes from the bars, the clutch and a steady throttle rather than from dabbing a foot, and the left hand does a great deal of the work. If the lever sits too far out, the fingers begin to ache after twenty minutes of slipping it. Set the EST333 so that the friction zone falls where your fingers are comfortably curled rather than stretched to their tips. Many riders also find the long blade, made in blue, gold, green or orange, helpful in processions, since the extra leverage lightens the pull. The last tip costs nothing: leave a little more space to the bike ahead. More distance means fewer stops and restarts, and a calmer left hand at the end of the run.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's list, the EST333 appears for the Speedmaster 900 from 2006 to 2016 and, in a separate entry, for the fuel-injected 865 cc version dated 2008 to 2010. In both cases it replaces the original lever at the stock clutch mounting. The EDF014 is the matching brake lever for the same Speedmaster years.
Road Approval
German road approval has not been documented for this clutch lever, so it is sold for track use.
