DescriptionThe whole story▼
Built specifically for 1-inch, 25.4 mm handlebars rather than the 22 mm bars most of Accossato's range is clamped to, this black anodised master cylinder keeps the 19 mm piston for dual-disc brakes and the PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm. It suits cruisers and larger-bar machines that still run two front discs, and the Shark Design body takes the folding lever in any of seven colours, long or short, with an integrated micro-switch for the brake light.
Key Features
- 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
- Sized for 1-inch, 25.4 mm handlebars
- PRS pivot distance adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm with no extra tool needed
- Black anodised aluminium body in Accossato's Shark Design
- Folding lever available in seven colours, short or long, with (RST) or without (NRST) a lightening eyelet
- Offset riser with a quick-release jumper that also reduces master cylinder movement
- Integrated micro-switch for the brake light, built in without adding weight
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
Construction and Material Quality
Aside from the clamp diameter, this unit is built the same way as Accossato's other 19 mm Ready To Brake master cylinders: Shark Design shaping cuts the passive stroke across every pivot setting, the off-set riser carries a quick-release jumper to speed up servicing, and stainless steel mounting screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals are specified to resist heat cycling and brake fluid exposure. The integrated micro-switch handles the brake light connection without adding meaningful weight to the unit.
Why the Clamp Diameter Matters Here
Where this black anodised unit differs from the standard 19 mm Ready To Brake master cylinder is the clamp itself, built for 1-inch, 25.4 mm handlebars rather than the 22 mm diameter used on most modern sportsbikes and nakeds, a detail that matters most to riders of cruisers and some older or custom machines running larger-diameter bars. The 19 mm piston and the PRS pivot distance, adjustable between 17, 18 and 19 mm, work exactly as they do on the standard-bar version, so nothing about the braking feel changes, only which handlebar it will physically clamp onto.
Fitment and Compatibility
Rather than a named list of motorcycles, this master cylinder is positioned generally for machines running 1-inch, 25.4 mm handlebars and two front discs, since the clamp size rather than the model is what decides fitment here. Get the tape measure out before ordering: confirm 25.4 mm rather than the far more common 22 mm, and check the 19 mm piston against your brake system's fluid needs. The nickel-plated take on this body is its own separate product.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
